Blue Blood Cycles Render

Writer: Clem MaurerClem Maurer

I wanted to try my hands on some fluid and cloth cables. I had bought Flip fluid a while ago and had yet to try it out. It's really cool, but it was a trial of patience to render that thing. Each frame takes about 3:30 to render, and there's 500 of them! But it used to be 7 minutes per frame so, big improvements here playing with the settings.

Next time, I'll make sure not to do such long animations, but I was used to Eevee and its fast render capabilities. For once though, I wanted to stick to Cycles. Took me a while to figure out the cable parameters (still need to work on my cloth skills though), then bake the animations, then bake the fluid, then find out the optimal Cycles options using a lot of research and trial and errors with my eyes glues to the screen.

Still, worth it.

I'll share the coolest things I learned in an upcoming break down video, and will share the scene itself here and on Gumroad for free.
